It was raining, that was the only thing I could make out clearly. A lot of factors were affecting my awareness of the surroundings, and confusion was becoming my best friend. It was raining, and I was unhappy; those were the only facts I could hold on to with confidence. My shoes and socks were soaked with grubby water, and every time the wind blew (and it blew indoors, too) heartless, cold shivers would rock through my spine, crashing me to the floor—almost.
